Bloggers Unite
Pretty cool project getting started today called > Bloggers Unite “Blogging for Hope” This blogger-driven campaign promises to raise awareness of abuse-related subjects and related non-profits around the world.
Bloggers are supposed to blog about putting an end to some sort of abuse (anything you want) and then track any measurable results (traffic counts, comments, links from others, recognition from charity or media, donations collected or made to a charity as applicable, etc.) for two weeks. Then the winners will be announced and they’ll receive some pretty cool prizes.
I love the idea and so far it looks like they’ve gotten a ton of bloggers on board. The thing is I just read about this today and don’t have time to participate the way i’m supposed to. But that won’t stop me from trying something in the next few weeks. Watch this space_
In the meantime get involved yourself or keep an eye out for some of the blogs that are participating.

Creature Hoodie
Check out these Creature Hoodies from RocketWorld >
“Rocket World’s Creature Hoodie stems from the immensely popular line of gun-toting, renegade animals. Limited to only 444 pieces…. ”There are 2 zippered hand warmer pockets, with inside stash pockets, a left sleeve slot for your Sharpie marker and an iPod pocket (with a head phone wire slot)… + plastic nose and plush, toylike ears”….Each hoodie includes a covert, I.W.G. logo embroidered patch that attaches to the hoodie via Velcro. Rocket World sells additional patches that you can pick up as add-ons. Also included with each creature hoodie is an exclusive I.W.G. mini figure – Terminator Septimius.”
Looks cozy and comfy,.. and with only 444 available you better hurry up and get one before they’re all gone! Oh and the best part is a portion of the proceeds are donated to select Wildlife Groups.

Anita Roddick
Anita Roddick died today at the age of 64. Mrs. Roddick was and will continue to be a huge inspiration for idUnited.
Here are some quotes from Anita that inspired me,.. I hope they’ll do the same for you >
“In terms of power and influence, you can forget the church and forget politics too. There is no more powerful institution in society than business. It is more important then ever before for business to assume a moral leadership in society”
“The prevailing view of trade could be described as commerce without conscience. And conscience is the key way out.”
“There are so many aspects of life that can’t be reduced to an entry in a balance book and our survival depends on remembering this.”
“The business of business should not just be about money, it should be about responsibility. It should be about public good, not private greed.”
“We need to measure progress by human development, not gross national product.”
“Progress has taught us more about our physical selves, but how much do we really know about our souls?”
“The next time you go shopping, demand more change.”
“If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.”
Louis Vuitton + Takashi Murakami = MOCA
Spotted over @ PSFK >
“In October, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles will make a move unprecedented in museum history. It will feature the work of artist Takashi Murakami alongside a pop-up version of a Louis Vuitton store selling luxury leather goods in the middle of the exhibition.
Murakami has specifically designed bags and accessories for this exhibit. As an artist, he has sought to break the barriers between low and high art. Housing a luxury brand within a non-profit gallery accomplishes this task.
The shop-gallery will offer limited-edition handbags at $875 to $920 featuring designs by the Japanese artist. MOCA will not receive any rental fees or profits from the shop. The exhibition runs from October 29 and runs through February 11.”
MOCA won’t receive any rental fee or profits?… @ $900 a bag I’m sure they could get a little something.

What if she spent $12mil on each of the charities on the next page?.. Jump to find out.
