LOGAN REAL

Last time I wrote about Logan Real it was about his RED Collection. (click RED for memories) Back then I was blown away by the simplicity and detail of his custom design work.

So it should come as no surprise that one of his most recent creations is equally as stunning >

Gerrard designed the diamond and sapphire caps, Baccarat is the crystal, and the drink inside is Bombay Sapphire gin. Each bottle is priced at $200,000, making the entire collection worth $1 million.

60 Unite for UNICEF

60u.jpg

Spotted over at JoshSpear >

“To commemorate its 60-year anniversary of fighting for children’s rights, UNICEF used its exceptional talent in organizing people for a worthy cause to gather the work of 60 renowned artists for a just-released anthology called 60, Unite for Children. Illustrators and graphic designers like Joshua Davis, Tokidoki, The Ronin and Tara McPherson contributed interpretations of their world views to the 180-page tome, some of which the book’s website material warns are “abstract, others more explicit; some will be radiant, others dark and pessimistic.”  60, Unite for Children kicks off a worldwide traveling exhibit for a year that will begin in November. There are only 2,000 copies of this book around, and all profits from the sale of book will go back to UNICEF.”

Get one before they’re all gone.

Louis Vuitton + Takashi Murakami = MOCA

murakami02a.jpg

Spotted over @ PSFK >

“In October, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles will make a move unprecedented in museum history. It will feature the work of artist Takashi Murakami alongside a pop-up version of a Louis Vuitton store selling luxury leather goods in the middle of the exhibition.

Murakami has specifically designed bags and accessories for this exhibit. As an artist, he has sought to break the barriers between low and high art. Housing a luxury brand within a non-profit gallery accomplishes this task.

The shop-gallery will offer limited-edition handbags at $875 to $920 featuring designs by the Japanese artist. MOCA will not receive any rental fees or profits from the shop. The exhibition runs from October 29 and runs through February 11.”

MOCA won’t receive any rental fee or profits?… @ $900 a bag I’m sure they could get a little something.

{side note} > Check out the artwork that Murakami designed for KanYe Wests’ new album.

22 Flavours

22flavours.jpg

Check out this tasty project called 22 Flavours I spotted over at JoshSpear >

“All-around lifestyle site Lifelounge launched a new charity project recently called the 22 Flavours project. They’ve invited 22 hot/new/swanky/sweet artists and designers each to design a t-shirt based on a flavor: cotton candy, banana split, strawberries & cream, etc. Each design will be printed on 22 t-shirts and sold for 22 days on the Lifelounge website, and all of the proceeds will benefit a charity to feed the homeless called Street Smart Australia.”

Great idea/concept,..! All the flavours sound great and the designs that have been posted so far are equally delicious. Own a great looking tee and help out a great cause at the same time.  Whoever said,.. “you shouldn’t play with your food..” obviously wasn’t using their imagination. Go visit 22Flavours
