KOR ONE Hydration Vessel

What started as one man’s attempt to find a decent reusable water bottle has blossomed into one of the sexiest industrial designs of the year. Taking a few visual cues from bottled water packaging Kor ups the ante with a handful of intelligent design choices. Foremost, the vessel (which starts shipping next month and retails for $30) features a hinged snap-cap that allows one to open and drink with a single hand. Unlike typical Sigg bottles (our former vessel of choice), the Kor One has a wide mouth that can accommodate ice cubes and deliver more water on demand. Lastly, consider the bottle’s ovular shape. When viewed from the front, it reminds of an old thermos; only from the side or the top can you see that the vessel has been pinched to provide an easier hand grip. Brilliant.

Bamboo Chute Phone

One of the most eco-friendly materials on the market right now is bamboo which comes from shoots and is the fastest growing wood known. Laut used the sustainable plant to create the cell phone he called Chute, aptly named after shoots of the plant.
In the age of “Disposable Technology” where new mobile phone models come out every couple of months,.. it’s nice to see a model not made out of cheap plastic. I hope we’ll see more phones like the Chute in the future.

Detroit Electric
Detroit Electric was an American icon in the early part of the 1900s. The brand represented the most popular electric car in history and the longest running electric car company, which operated between 1907 and 1939 by the Anderson Electric Car Company in Detroit Michigan. At the time, the car was very popular, with customers like Thomas Edison, Charles Proteus Steinmetz, Henry Ford’s Wife Clara, and John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
One hundred years ago Detroit Electric had a car that could go 211 miles on a charge. With today’s technology we should be able to go far beyond that.

Italian design house Seletti brings you these glass water bottles that are inspired by their plastic counterparts. Great for serving water, wine and all things fine. Each bottles holds 1 liter and comes with a glass cap. Choose from four different designs pictured from left to right.

Chocolate Mint Water
The good people over at MetroMint want to change the way you think water should taste. In the past they have introduced us to Peppermint, Spearmint, Lemonmint and Orangemint flavored water,.. but this is by far the craziest flavor yet! I introduce you to Chocolatemint! Chocolatemint (like all the other flavors) is calorie free, has no sweeteners and no preservatives. Ingredients consist of purified water, mint and cocoa essence. This is to good to be true. My favorite flavor ice cream (Mint Chocolate Chip) + water! Drinking eight glasses a day has suddenly become easy! Keep an eye out for it in stores this Valentines day.

Another product release from the (RED) campaign. This (RED) Aqua Table is designed by famous architect Zaha Hadid. Priced @ $49,560,.. it’s probably just a bit out of your (at least my) price range,.. but it’s nice to look and all the profits are going to support the Global Fund.

(RED) Shuffle
The following information could turn out to just be a rumor,.. but for now I’ll help spread the word >
“…..Apple’s future product plans say the company is preparing to add a red-colored model to the line of petite clip-on players, possibly as early as next week…..”
Apple has already released a (RED) iPod nano as well as a (RED) iTunes gift card. As far as the (RED) shuffle goes we’ll have to wait until next Wednesday to find out if you can (really) get your hands on it. That’s when Apple will unveil it’s new products @ San Francisco’s Moscone West convention center. Until then this is just a rumor. It’s true! Go here.
